About the Team

The repertoire team at PPL are music data specialists. We live, breathe and love it, using our expert knowledge to maximise the money our members are paid when their music is played. At the heart of our team is the PPL Repertoire Database, holding details of over 28 million tracks - and counting. By resolving data gaps, analysing trends and constantly improving data quality, we work alongside other teams across the business to provide a world class customer experience for our members, licensees and international counterparts.

What you'll be doing:

  • As Repertoire Data Administrator, you will support the Repertoire Data Team Manager and Supervisor in the provision of recording, rights and music reporting data management services. You will help ensure data provided by PPL members, licensees and other CMOs is accurate, complete and compliant with PPL policies, enabling revenue to be processed and paid through effectively.
  • Analyse repertoire, rights and music reporting data using specialist applications and reporting tools such as Salesforce, Alliant, Birst, Tableau and AWS.
  • Monitor data compliance against PPL's Repertoire Data Policy and Music Reporting Policy, identifying and resolving data issues in line with agreed procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Repertoire, Member Services, International, Distribution, Business Services, Technology and Broadcast Licensing to improve data quality.
  • Carry out manual intervention and maintenance activities to add, correct and enrich prioritised UK and international repertoire and member data.
  • Support workstreams relating to rightsholder data, music reporting data, international repertoire and Business Services projects.
  • Provide clear, accurate and timely responses to internal and external queries, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Assist with workflow management, process documentation, team training and quality assurance activities.
  • Identify and escalate issues that could impact service delivery, quality or deadlines.

What you'll need:

  • We're looking for someone who enjoys working with data, has strong attention to detail and is comfortable using analysis to solve problems and improve outcomes. You'll be organised, collaborative and able to communicate complex information clearly to different audiences.
  • Experience working in a data processing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work confidently with large datasets.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including functions such as VLOOKUP and PivotTables.
  • Experience using multiple reporting tools or data applications, with the ability to identify the most effective reports for a given query.
  • Experience carrying out quality assurance on datasets and maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
  • Able to learn new systems and tools quickly.
  • A passion for music and an interest in the music industry.
  • It would also be helpful, but not essential, if you have experience working in the music industry, knowledge of collective music licensing, advanced report-writing skills or experience with tools such as Tableau or AWS.
